We went camping last weekend – the first time in 5 years and first time w/3 kids!!! Needless to say I thought I would have to take some kind of blood pressure medication while we were there, but it was awesome, we all had a great time!
We went to Pocahontas State Park, a quick 30 minute drive in case we had to head home in the middle of the night. The kids had a blast cutting and collecting wood, bringing water from the well, collecting dung chips, feeding the cattle… come on now, it’s not like we crossed the plains. But they did help out a ton and loved eating hot dogs and chocolate milk hot from the fire (and the camp stove).
Only downer was that we couldn’t bring in our own wood cuz of mites, we had to buy wood at the site and it ended up being wet… so no roaring camp fire complete with singing songs and telling ghost stories. Which is just as well cuz the kids were sound asleep by 8:30 – everyone slept thru the night w/only one midnight potty break (and surprisingly it wasn’t Denton).
Next camping trip…. we’re tenting it at the Richmond International Raceway waiting to catch a glimpse of the Pitbull in Lipstick herself, Sarah Palin when she comes through Richmond on Monday. If we do I”ll post pics, of Denton kissing her that is.

There’s so much to blog about, i’m so behind! Let me start with SarahCuda…
If you didn’t watch the VP debates last week, you missed out. While I don’t believe that Palin won by a landslide like some of media projected, I do feel like she did an exceptional job considering she was the underdog. I like Joe Biden from the debate, I like him more then Obama. I liked that Biden and Palin could be civil with each other and laugh a bit. Things are stressful enough in life to have to watch candidates on TV be hostile, so it was a good debate. But too bad most of the facts Biden gave were false and untrue. “Say it ain’t so Joe!” Too bad most of America won’t come to find that out. He was a good speaker, and for those who didn’t know that his facts were incorrect, they may be swayed. But who would I rather be in the White House working to save the family and nation? Palin, any day.
It doesn’t matter to me that she’s a woman, I think that’s just a perk. But I feel that since she is a woman and her mothering and family are at the front of her “story” that she will do what she can to uphold family values and morals in our government. I feel like she will be the best person to represent what I believe and what I think is most important in this country: families. After the Couric interview, I never strayed from my feelings that Palin was a good candidate. I think she is a quick learner, as shown by the debates on Thursday. Hello, she’s been on the race for five weeks, what do you expect!?!?! And she’s passing expectations…. The McCain campaign made a poor choice in keeping Palin under wraps since Couric. But now that the debates have come and gone, she’ll be on the front lines of the running. And “Gosh Darnit” she’s gonna look ahead to the future and fight all the corruption and greed the Killer from Wasilla can handle.
Just so you know…. I’m making “SaraCuda” shirts for me and Leo and I’m gonna wear that sucker from now until Nov. 4 (except on Tuesday and Friday’s when I do laundry).
