That’s it, I’m banning Oprah from my home and erasing all the TIVO’d episodes I have of her show. Check out the Drudge Report to find out why. Isn’t she all about empowering women and telling us to go for our dreams and reach our potential? I guess that only means if you’re a Democrat.
For a while I’ve become less enamored with Oprah that I have been in the past. Really, I think she’s racist and egotistical. I learn a lot on her shows, but sometimes I think she caters to those “more like her” then not. And now that she’s pulling this, I’m breaking up with her.
Peace out Big-O! And change a lot!
Now I’ve got to figure out what to watch at night while I’m doing laundry….
I feel the same – - – I don’t really care politically (no Palin crush) but, Oprah always ticks me off when she is talking about marriage and kids. I think my first Oprah tick-off was when she had Lance Armstrong’s exwife. She made me mad talking about marriage views and she seems progay too!!! Whatever makes one happy – and mostly selfishly happy. – - Doing what you need for yourself (forget kids and husbands and families)
you go gina! i love your peace out memo to the big fat o. she drives me nuts even though some of her shows are great & fun. i am so over her, too, & i cannot even remember her last show i watched-it’s been years! she is a double standard all over!
I have been Oprah free since ’03. Her views definitely do not coincide with mine and I was tired of her shows that conflicted with each other. Like one day was about saving money and getting out of debt and the next day jeans that every woman can afford at $400. Come on, Oprah, not cool. She has never impressed me, but when she openly supported Obama, I was furious. I do not think Hollywood, famous types should endorse candidates. That is my opinion.
Sorry, you probably have no idea who I am, but I know Denton from high school and I love reading your blog.
I haven’t watched Oprah in years because she honestly drives me crazy… but hey, if you want something to watch on Monday nights… try Prison Break. I have to admit, it’s a little morbid sometimes… but I’m willing to look past it because of “Michael Scofield”! humana, humana!
I have liked her for a long time but recently I was informed that she was starting her own church. hello- Where is my lightning rod? no thanks she has done a lot of good but I think she will point a lot of people in the wrong direction. Marissa you are awesome I wonder about how you are doing and now the wonderful world of bloging will keep us in touch. tanke care and go easy on the salt- Konae
i’m secretly loving the oprah controversy…why aren’t more people writing?:) gina! when can i be your next door neighbor? tomorrow? yesth pleasth! right now my kids are bugging the elderly couple who lives next door…spying on them & then bee comes back with, “and i asked if we could come over & he’s not scary at all…not a bit!” nice.:) gotta run…naked baby on the bed.
