we made it!

After 15 hours of travel, the kids and I made it to Washington – it was so cute to see them run thru the airport into Gran’s arms, made it all worth it.  And considering this was the first time I flew w/3 kids by myself, it wasn’t that bad:

Our first flight left a half hour late, so we missed our second flight by 10 minutes, I COULD NOT believe our bad luck!  We waited in the Cincinatti airport for 3 hours but the kids were able to spend some time at the play area so that helped.  The Delta peeps gave us meal vouchers so I bribed the kids with Happy Meals.  Then they put us on First Class for our 4-hour flight to SLC - it would’ve been awesome except that Rocky screamed most of the flight – I’m sure the business travellers hated us.  Leo was living it up though in her seat with her movie screen, glass of cranberry spritzer, and enough room in her seat to invite some friends to join her.  The kids did great on our third and final flight and only started having breakdowns at the very end, which was around midnight our time.  So we survived.

And you wanna now WHY we survived?  Cuz I PRAYED my face off, cuz Denton gave us all blessings before we left, cuz my mom put our names in the temple, cuz people watched my kids and gave us treats to take on the plane before we left, cuz there were awesome people on the plane who helped carry my car seat and make sure the kids were occupied, because it takes a VILLAGE to get me and may family across country, and it worked.  So THANK YOU to everyone – you saved me. :)

Glad you made it. We had some nice guys help us in the airport one. We were running VERY late and were trying to actually run through the airport with three car seats, a stroller, and kids and other bags. A nice dad and his sons grabbed our stuff and helped us get in line. I was so emotional I couldn’t even say Thank You for the tears. Again, glad you made it!

Yippeeeeeeeee! I’m SO GLAD you made it in one piece! I LOVE LOVE LOVE nice people who are super understanding when it comes to children and traveling!! I always think of my dad when I travel, too, because he is one of those business people you worry about bugging, but he’s able to laugh it off, so I think they can, too!:) I hope you are having a super fun time! Can’t wait to see more updates!:)

I’m sooo glad you made it safely!! We already miss you guys. Have a great trip!!!! and um, if it was me, I would have let my 3 screaming kids run up and down the isles..hoping that would motivate the pilot to leave on time and fly faster! Lucky you that you had friendly flyers.

Dude, you make me want to schedule my next flight for tomorrow. Either that or run far, far away from the airport. And I only have two kids!

Glad you arrived safely. Have an awesome trip!
